Feedback provided to tutee: In our first tutoring session I did not provide much feedback because I wanted to get a clearer picture of Je-ah's English proficiency. Most of my feedback was words of encouragement and correction of simple mistakes; I was very impressed by her reading and comprehension abilities.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I hope to continue to build Je-ah's confidence in conversation capacity. I can tell she understands almost every task or instruction I give her. She showed me her English workbook so I was able to get an idea of what sorts of lessons she is working on. Je-ah seems really eager to learn and engaged in all the content we worked on.

During our session, I used my iPad to display labeled pictures of weather, fruits and colors. I would ask her questions related to the images and have her write sentences describing them. Like I mentioned before, her reading abilities really impressed me so I am planning to use this skill to develop further lesson plans.

Je-ah is really sweet, so I am intrigued by the challenge a child ESL learner will be for me. While this level of English learning is a challenge, she seems driven enough to make things easier on my end.
