Feedback provided to tutee: I provided Je-ah with feedback on her tenses and pronunciation
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that Je-ah is a very visual learner, we did an activity where we would hold up the school items as we reviewed the vocabulary. I would say things like, "show me a pencil", etc. She seemed to enjoy lessons that were structured this way compared to lessons where I just presented her with the new content.
In today's session I prepared two picture vocabulary charts. These charts have been really helpful in our lessons because they served as a strong reference point for Je-ah whenever she came across a term or sentence she was unsure of. Together we wrote a paragraph describing the activities of her day. I had her do this after we had gone over the new vocabulary that would be used in the paragraph. Teaching over zoom is hard, especially with younger children who may not have the attention span for long periods of time. Despite that, Je-ah is really engaged and continues to impress me with each new lesson we work on.
