 I had promised my tutee, Dave, in our previous tutoring session that we would be going over verb tenses during this session. I used my notes from our TEFL class, went through the context of when to use each verb tense, and provided examples of sentences using the verb tenses. I appreciate that Dave is a very motivated student because I did not have to ask him to provide his own examples, instead he would naturally participate and share his own examples as he though of them. Because there are twelve verb tenses, I quickly noticed how tired and unmotivated Dave was slowly becoming, especially since he had a long day at school. I then found a website that provided easy fill in the blank quizzes for each verb tense. This activity was very helpful because Dave had an easier time actively answering these rather than trying to comprehend the rules of each verb tense. I had told him that the subject and verb agreements will develop naturally for him as he practices his speaking and writing, and this activity proved that!
