Topic Skills: Speaking and Grammar Skills

Feedback provided to the tutee: I have attempted to build on skills as each tutoring session progresses. I continue to be impressed by how quickly Je-won picks up new material.

Lesson about tutoring and/or tutee learned: Time, Nouns, Simple Present Tense Sentences

Tutee: Je-won Lee

This tutoring session we continued to practice nouns and simple present tense sentences. All of the nouns being taught focus on classroom objects. I want to reinforce what he has done in class, what we have done in our tutoring sessions, and introduce new concepts. As always, this session used a PowerPoint structure to provide the appropriate visual aid. After reviewing content, I introduced the concept of time. I felt as though it would be a good opportunity to transition into this topic because of his previous knowledge in numbers and the verb "be." Aside from discussing telling time, I also reviewed important descriptive terms like "morning," "afternoon," and "evening." All of these terms are used fairly often. Through discussing time, it offered the chance for us to discuss the time zone differences between South Korea and the United States.
