 For this tutoring session with Dave, I went back to the website englishforeveryone.org and chose a different resource. I chose a grade 7 level reading comprehension worksheet because Dave has just finished sixth grade. We went through a reading passage about the Eiffel Tower, and took turns reading it aloud. I started first and encouraged him to pay attention to how I pronounce any words that he is not familiar with. After reading every paragraph, I would ask if he there were any words he did not know. These became new vocabulary words that I added to our shared google doc, along with their definition, part of speech, and example sentence. After we were done reading, we answered the reading comprehension questions together, and I helped him with the technique of finding the answers directly from going back to the reading.
