Topic Skills: Grammar Skills

Feedback provided to the tutee: The end of this tutoring session was originally going to conclude with a reading; however, he did inform me he was feeling tired today. I did not want to overwhelm, so we focused more on learning and applying possessive adjectives. We also reviewed different forms of questions to reinforce this material.

Lessons about tutoring and/or tutee learned: Possessive adjectives, Forms of Questions,  and Adverbs of Frequency

For Wednesday, we focused on forms of questions (Who, Whose, Where, etc.), possessive adjectives, and adverbs of frequency. We began this session with recognizing what certain questions are insinuating. For example, for "Who?" type questions, we went over that these questions almost always refer to a person. After reviewing this, we went over the different possessive adjectives; however, I believe he has this material learned well. The new material for the day focuses on adverbs of frequency. I went over each type (always, sometimes, never, etc.) and provided the necessary examples for each. For Monday's tutoring session, we will begin the session with a reading and a speaking activity that incorporates using adverbs of frequency.
