        On May 7th, I observed Ah-young Kim’s listening class. Ah-young Kim is an excellent professor who teaches foreign students wonderfully. She has a great speaking voice for the students and her lesson was clear and appropriate for the level of the students. One thing that I think Ms. Kim does very well is that she is able to teach in person and on zoom at the same time, which is a very difficult task. She does this while keeping the students very engaged in the lesson as well. Because these classes are only 50 minutes long, there is only so much one can teach, but Ms. Kim showed the students a video about if murder is moral or not. She paused throughout the video, giving the students time so that they could write down vocabulary they did not know. I think this helps the students a lot in learning new words. By giving them time to listen to it and write it down students will remember the word and later be able to use it. To finish off the class, Ms. Kim had a discussion with the students asking their feedback on the video and what they thought of it.
