On May 13th, I observed Felicia Ciappetta’s grammar class. Unfortunately, when I observed this class it was the celebration of Eid for the Muslim students, so there were only two students in the class this day. Despite this, Ciappetta still taught the class. In this class the two students worked on a past presentation that they did not have time to finish, so they continued it in this class. The presentation was on the “Past Perfect Continuous.” They were given some time to work on it, then they presented it to us. After this, Ms. Ciappetta went over some phrasal verbs with them. Since there weren’t many students, it was hard to teach a whole new lesson to the students, so Ms. Ciappetta took this time to have them continue a past assignment, which helped them with their grammar. I think she did a great job at accommodating, since her full class was not in attendance. Ms. Ciappetta did a wonderful job at teaching such a small class and keeping them engaged in the class.
