Feedback provided to the tutee: This was the last tutoring session I had with my tutee. It was sad considering how quickly all of the tutoring sessions went by. Despite how quickly time fled, all in all, I could really tell how much his English knowledge and skills grew from the first session. In the first session he was limited to what he could say and understand; however, by this meeting, even if he could not understand certain words or phrases I said, I could tell he had enough of a grasp to understand what I was saying. He has made so much improvement. It truly was such a great opportunity to be able to watch someone's skills grow so much in a short amount of time. I hope that he grows a passion for learning languages, as I did when I was learning foreign languages. Most of the tutoring session was spent reviewing everything we covered in the last sixteen tutoring sessions. We began by reviewing content we went over in the last tutoring session, as it was the newest material. Following similar activities I have done in the past, I had him listen to what I was saying and draw what I was asking. We also discussed even more adjectives used to describe nouns. After concluding that area, I had him describe himself using a few different adjectives he had learned. Afterwards, we reviewed content from all sessions ranging from telling time, directions, classroom objects, family members, verbs, and more. At the end of the session, I thanked him for the opportunity of letting me tutor him these past sixteen sessions. As I have said before, it truly was such an enlightening and great opportunity to tutor with a student on a one to one basis, especially a student who lives in a different country.
Lessons about tutoring and/or tutee learned: Family-related vocabulary, descriptive adjectives, telling time, telling/asking directions, different uses of verbs (vocab in-context), classroom objects
